The McLaren MP4-12C Spider mixes un-compromised fun of a coupe while providing the infinite headroom of a roadster. The engineers at McLaren have solved the age-old debacle on the open rooftop by integrating a one-piece carbon fiber pod, which accounts for the structural rigidity of the car. This is an F1 car with real road comfort. Powered by the 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V-8 gets a 24-hp bump, for a total of 616 hp. The 12C Spider is a highly configurable car with two rotary dials that switch between Normal, Sport and Track modes. From outside the car has an aggressive and sporty design but once you’re inside the car, you’re greeted with a surprisingly spacious cabin for two, trimmed in leather and leather upholstery all over. Once the top drops, the sound of the high-performance powertrain envelops the passenger space from behind and the side, echoing off any nearby structure or vehicle.
